  • Developed with an anatomical design and profiling dedicated to young riders, the new SM3 Youth helmet is intended for MX, Enduro, and off-road use.
  • Ultra-lightweight, it features a thermo-injected shell in a proprietary polymer blend with differentiated thicknesses, delivering an ideal balance between impact protection and lightness. Advanced impact-resistant thermoplastic outer shell, offered in three sizes (Youth Small, Youth Medium, and Youth Large). SM3 Youth weight: 1,060 g.
  • The fit is adjustable thanks to crown and cheek pads available in multiple thicknesses as original parts.
  • Youth Medium and Youth Large share the same EPS size, allowing a move from YM to YL by simply replacing the crown and cheek pads.
  • Youth Small has a more compact EPS and can only be customized using cheek pads. Alpinestars’ in-depth studies show that children in YS are very young (around 3 to 4 years old) and require a dedicated helmet fit.
  • Multi-density EPS liner to maximize impact absorption while reducing the helmet’s overall weight.
  • The inner and outer surfaces are engineered to mitigate the effects of oblique impacts.
  • A patented low-friction coating is applied inside the main EPS liner to reduce rotational acceleration forces during oblique impacts; this layer acts as a slip surface, similar to cerebrospinal fluid.
  • Patented visor release system, calibrated to open at a predefined force to reduce strain on the neck in the event of an impact.
  • Comfort inner liner made from recycled materials to help reduce the carbon footprint.
  • Hydration hose channels are integrated into the cheek pads for easier use and enhanced performance.
  • Safety
  • Alpinestars introduces an internal standard specific to the SM3 Youth, including a chin bar test that is more demanding than standard certification. Shell thickness and structure are optimized around the chin for improved impact protection.
  • Equipped with the Emergency Release System with removable cheek pads for simple, safe pad removal while the helmet is worn; 3D-contoured foam ensures optimal comfort.
  • 25 mm soft textile chin strap combining safety and comfort.
  • Stainless steel rings providing secure retention and precise adjustment.
  • Ventilation
  • Maximum airflow and excellent heat exchange thanks to 10 intake vents and 7 exhausts.
  • The visor is shaped to channel airflow toward the various vents, promoting better ventilation.
