EBC WATER GROOVED brake shoes, with cast-aluminum backing plates (two-wheelers) or stamped-steel backing plates (quads) and bonded linings, are ground, chamfered and fitted with original springs. Their grooves channel dirt, water and debris away for improved braking and longer life, without hazardous fibers. Do not machine them yourself. WARNING: on four-wheel quads, replace both sides simultaneously.

  • The EBC WATER GROOVED brake shoes are designed with die-cast aluminum backing plates for the majority of two-wheelers, or stamped steel backing plates for most quads; the brake linings are bonded for long-lasting durability.
  • All shoes are ground and deburred to ensure a precise fit in the drum; they feature lead-in and lead-out chamfers at the ends and are fitted with original-style springs.
  • Multiple grooves cut into the friction surface allow dirt, dust, water and debris to escape, improving braking and extending the life of the drum and the brake shoe.
  • In the past, mechanics would saw these grooves into the linings—a practice we do not recommend; however, please note that NO EBC brake shoe contains hazardous fibers.
  • WARNING: on four-wheeled quads, ALWAYS REPLACE LEFT AND RIGHT BRAKES AT THE SAME TIME to avoid uneven brake application from side to side, which can cause the vehicle to pull to one side and result in an accident.
