  • Economy starters equipped with bearings designed to offer superior durability compared to original equipment parts.
  • On many OEM starters, the outboard needle-roller bearing is located outside the shaft seal and unprotected, making it vulnerable.
  • When the outboard bearing is located outside the seal, moisture can enter the electric motor housing and reach the bearing, causing corrosion and premature degradation.
  • To address this issue, Rick's has incorporated a double-sealed ball bearing into its new replacement part.
  • The output seal has been positioned outside the bearing in this design, providing an additional barrier against water ingress.
  • This clever choice achieves two objectives: effectively protecting the outboard bearing from water and making the sealed ball bearing replaceable for easier maintenance.
  • The result is a robust replacement solution, better protected against external elements and easier to service than unprotected OEM configurations.
