  • Economy starter motors designed with bearings that are stronger and more durable than the original equipment ones.
  • On many stock starter motors, the output needle bearing sits outside the shaft seal and is unprotected; in this arrangement, moisture can enter the starter motor's output cap.
  • Water that seeps in can travel along the armature shaft into the unprotected needle bearing, causing corrosion and shortening the component's service life.
  • Rick's improves the design by equipping its new aftermarket unit with a double-sealed ball bearing, with the shaft output seal positioned outside the bearing.
  • This clever arrangement effectively protects the outer bearing from water intrusion and allows, if necessary, the sealed ball bearing to be replaced for easier maintenance and increased longevity.
