  • Economy starters designed with bearings that are more robust and durable than the original equipment components
  • On many OEM starters, the needle roller output bearing is located outside the shaft seal and is unprotected; this configuration allows moisture to enter the electric motor housing
  • Water or moisture entering the motor housing can reach the exposed bearing and cause premature corrosion
  • Rick's opted to install a double-sealed ball bearing on its new replacement part, with the shaft seal positioned outside the bearing
  • This clever design serves two essential purposes: it protects the outer bearing from water ingress and, at the same time, allows for replacement of the sealed ball bearing
