  • Economy starters featuring bearings designed to be more durable and to last longer than the originals.
  • On many original starters, the output bearing is a needle roller bearing located outside the shaft seal and unprotected; this configuration leaves a path for moisture to enter.
  • Moisture can seep into the electric motor's drive-end cap, reach the exposed bearing, and cause premature corrosion, leading to failures and accelerated wear.
  • Rick's improves the design by installing a double-sealed ball bearing in its new aftermarket unit, with the shaft seal positioned outside the bearing to better isolate it from the elements.
  • Clever design: the outer bearing is thus protected against water ingress, and the sealed ball bearing is designed to be replaceable, simplifying service and extending the starter's lifespan.
