  • Affordable starters designed with bearings that are stronger and more durable than the original (OEM) bearings.
  • Many OEM starters are fitted with an exposed output needle bearing located outside the shaft seal; this configuration leaves the component vulnerable to moisture ingress.
  • Moisture can enter the motor output cap and then travel along the armature shaft to the unprotected needle bearing, eventually causing corrosion and premature bearing failure.
  • Rick’s has improved this design by installing, on its new aftermarket unit, a double-sealed ball bearing paired with an output shaft seal positioned outside the bearing.
  • This clever solution serves two purposes: protect the outer bearing from water entry and make the sealed ball bearing replaceable, simplifying maintenance and extending the starter’s service life.
