  • Economy starters designed with bearings that are more robust and durable than the original bearings, for improved component longevity.
  • On many OEM starters, the output bearing (often a needle-type) is located outside the shaft seal and is not properly protected; this exposure makes it easier for moisture to enter the electric motor housing.
  • Moisture that seeps in can reach the unprotected bearing and cause corrosion, leading to premature wear and starter failures.
  • Rick's has chosen to equip its new replacement part with a double-sealed ball bearing and to install the output shaft seal outside the bearing to improve overall protection.
  • This clever design provides two benefits: the outer bearing is better protected from water and the environment, and the sealed ball bearing remains replaceable for maintenance or repair.
