  • Economy starters equipped with bearings designed to provide a longer service life than original equipment (OEM) components.
  • On many OEM models, the output needle bearing is located outside the shaft seal and is not properly protected; as a result, moisture can enter the motor housing.
  • Once moisture enters, it can travel along the armature shaft to the unprotected needle bearing, causing corrosion and premature bearing failure.
  • Rick's solved this issue by incorporating a double-sealed ball bearing and positioning the output shaft seal outside the bearing on its new aftermarket unit.
  • This clever design effectively protects the outer bearing from water while still allowing the sealed ball bearing to be replaced if necessary, simplifying maintenance and improving reliability.
