When an unprotected needle-bearing cage allows moisture in and corrodes the bearings, Rick’s unit fixes the problem by using a double-sealed ball bearing with the shaft seal placed on the outside, protecting against water and providing a replaceable sealed bearing.

  • Affordable starters designed with bearings that are more durable than the originals.
  • On many starter motors, the needle bearing cages are exposed outside the output shaft seal; moisture can then enter through the output cap, travel up the armature and reach the unprotected needle cage, which can cause bearing corrosion.
  • Rick's allows the installation of a double-sealed ball bearing by placing the output shaft seal outside the bearing in its new replacement unit.
  • Thoughtful design: the outer bearing is protected from water and the sealed ball bearing is designed to be replaceable.
