  • Economy starters equipped with bearings more durable than the original (OEM) ones.
  • On many OEM starters, the output needle bearing is placed outside the shaft seal and remains unprotected; moisture can then enter the motor end cap, run along the armature shaft to the exposed needle bearing, and cause corrosion.
  • Rick's goes further by fitting, on their new replacement unit, a double-sealed ball bearing, with the shaft output seal positioned outside the bearing.
  • This clever design serves two purposes: to protect the outer bearing from water intrusion and to allow replacement of the sealed ball bearing.
