The outer shell is thermally expanded at 200 °C onto the inner core and, together with the wave profile, ensures a permanent bond. Flat‑head screws provide lateral strength; self‑cleaning anti‑mud grooves reduce dust, wear and weight. Service life is 3× that of aluminum sprockets.

  • The inner body is machined from Ultralight™ 7075 T6 aluminum, a very strong alloy also used for Renthal's standard chainring
  • The outer ring is made of steel with a chemical nickel plating for increased durability, and has been engineered using only the minimum amount of material to keep weight down
  • The outer ring is expanded at 200 °C before being mounted onto the inner body; this assembly process, combined with the wavy profile, ensures a permanent bond throughout the chain's lifetime
  • Flat-head screws provide additional resistance to lateral impacts and prevent any contact with the chain guide
  • Tar-resistant, self-cleaning grooves located between each tooth prevent dust buildup, reduce wear, and help lighten the part
  • Durability is up to three times greater than that of standard all-aluminum chainrings, while remaining noticeably lighter than a fully steel chainring
