  • The S&S system relies on a crank position sensor, a cam position sensor where applicable, a MAP sensor, a cylinder head temperature sensor, and an exclusive knock sensor capable of detecting any detonation or knock as soon as it occurs.
  • Thanks to the knock sensor, the ECU automatically adjusts ignition timing to eliminate any potential knock.
  • Designed to optimize power while improving fuel economy.
  • The Intelligent Spark Technology ignition module requires an installation kit, sold separately.
  • Optional high-output coil: designed for the S&S variable fuel injection system, the single-fire coil actually combines two separate coils in a single housing; impedance is 3 ohms per coil (sold separately).
  • Made in the USA.
  • Not compatible with fuel-injected models.
  • Not recommended for kick-start applications, except when using a cam position sensor; engines equipped with such a sensor are difficult to kick-start.
  • S&S IST ignition modules manufactured after 10-1-03 (serial number beginning with “E” or a later letter) already include software that supports the Guardian diagnostic system; these modules will work in all applications.
