  • The S&S system relies on a complete set of sensors: crankshaft position sensor, cam position sensor where applicable, MAP sensor, cylinder head temperature sensor, as well as an exclusive knock sensor that detects any detonation and knocking.
  • The knock sensor allows the ECU to automatically adjust ignition timing to eliminate any potential knock.
  • Optimizes both power and fuel economy.
  • The Intelligent Spark Technology ignition module requires an installation kit, sold separately.
  • Optional high-output coil available: designed for the S&S Variable Fuel Injection system, the single-fire coil is actually two separate coils housed in a single case; impedance is 3 ohms per coil (sold separately).
  • Made in the USA.
  • Not compatible with fuel-injected models.
  • Not recommended for kickstart applications unless a cam position sensor is used; engines equipped with camshaft position sensors are difficult to kickstart.
  • S&S IST ignition modules manufactured after 10-1-03 (serial number beginning with "E" or a later letter) already include software that supports the Guardian diagnostic system. These modules will work in all applications.
