  • Conversely, a shock slightly shorter than the original can affect the rake and slow down steering.
  • Heavy-duty (reinforced) applications are recommended for motorcycles that carry, or operate near, the manufacturer's maximum load more than 50% of the time.
  • Before purchasing or installing shocks of a different length than the OEM, verify that wheel travel can vary without risk of interference (for example between swingarm/axle and exhaust, or between the chain/belt guard and the tire).
