  • All shocks are measured from eyelet to eyelet.
  • On XL models ('86–'15), installation may require modifying or spacing the chain/belt case to achieve sufficient clearance.
  • A shock slightly longer than stock can alter the rake angle and result in quicker steering.
  • A shock slightly shorter than stock can alter the rake angle and slow the steering.
  • Heavy-duty applications are recommended for motorcycles operated at or near the manufacturer's maximum load more than 50% of the time.
  • Before purchasing or installing shocks of a different length than OEM, verify that wheel travel can be changed without risk of interference.
  • In particular, check for possible interference between the swingarm/axle and the exhaust, or between the chain/belt guard and the tire.
